SINGULAR NOUNS • A noun that names one person, one place, or one thing
PLURAL NOUNS • A noun that names more than one person, place, or thing
1 • To form the plural of most nouns, just add –s Examples: sticks, cows, cars, girls
2 When the singular noun ends in: s, ch, sh, x, or z -----add –es Examples: lunches, foxes, classes, arches
3 • When the noun ends in “o” then, add –s or –es • Examples: piano ---pianos studio---studios echo---echoes hero---heroes potato---potatoes
4 When the noun ends in “y”, with a consonant before it, change “y” to “i” and add –es Examples: fly ---flies penny---pennies candy---candies
