United States Producer Price Index (PPI)
March's producer price index for final demand rose 0.2% from the previous month. The increase is a touch below consensus expectations of 0.3% growth and marks a welcome deceleration from February's 0.6% rise. Relative to a year ago, the final demand PPI was up 2.1% in March. Core PPI, which excludes food, energy and trade services, rose 0.2% as well in March, following 0.3% growth in February.
