    This year, we received over 1500 submissions from primary schools across Singapore. 50 finalists were invited to a free short story writing workshop, and 23 were eventually named the winners of various book vouchers. The Primary 6 Creative Writing Competition helps SOTA interact and connect with young and passionate writers.

    Congratulations to the 2021 recipients of the Creative Writing Prizes: The Peregrine Prize from the Academy of American Poets. Awarded to the best original poetry by a graduate student. Winner: Mir Masud-Elias. Contest judge Rachel Zolf writes: Masud-Elias's poems "witness, record, survive" in a remarkable range of forms on the page.

  17. SOTA Primary 6 Creative Writing Competition 2024

    Rules and Regulations. The competition is ONLY open to students and homeschoolers who will be in Primary 6 (or its equivalent) in 2024. Participants from international schools in Singapore who will turn 12 in 2024 are also encouraged to apply. Only short stories will be accepted.

  18. SOTA Creative Writing Competition 2018

    On 9 December 2017, SOTA organised the Primary 6 Creative Writing Competition for the third year running. The competition was supported by Singapore Press Holdings Foundation (SPHF) and was open to all current Primary 6 students. The competition concluded on 28 Feb 2018 with more than 1,200 submissions from over 100 primary schools.
