Welcome to the magical world of reading with Hooked on Books
Hooked on Books is a dynamic Children’s Educational Theatre company traveling to schools across South Africa. We specialise in creating a love of reading from an early age. Hooked on books has been creating readers since 1993. We are very proud to say, a homegrown South African brand that celebrates being 30 years old in 2023!
Our passion for theatre and storytelling enables us to bring books to life and get children Hooked on books! Looking for new authors and titles is where the journey starts every year. Searching locally and internationally, we dramatise book-trailers from modern day children’s books and present a variety of wholesome new titles every year. Stories are left at a nail-biting cliff-hanger, and children rush to the library to find out how the story ends. The Hooked on Books shows are exciting as we add large dollops of humour, song & dance, colourful characters, drama and adventure. Clever audience participation gets kids jumping into books with us and igniting imaginations.
