If your Google Business Profile (formerly known as Google My Business) includes customer reviews, it can increase the chances of improving your local SEO, driving more web and foot traffic, and increasing business profits.
But it brings us to the question: Is there a way to bring customers directly to your Google Business Profile instead of asking them to search for it ?
The answer is a QR Code for Google Reviews.
You can place these QR Codes in your store and other relevant touchpoints to let your customers seamlessly provide feedback so you can receive the quality reviews you need.

- Collect more social proof with Beaconstac’s Google review QR Codes
A Google Review QR Code is a type of QR Code that lets users scan and post a review on your brand’s Google Business Profile listing. Customers can easily scan and share their feedback online and help your business garner more footfall and revenue.
We recommend using a dynamic QR Code for Google review campaigns (Find out the difference between a static and dynamic QR Code ).
Let’s say you use a static QR Code to let users submit reviews on Google.
If you ever decide to change your business’s name, you’ll need to share a new review link with your customers.
Since you’re using a static QR Code, this would require creating it again, reprinting, and redistributing it—not an ideal experience.
Instead, you can use a dynamic QR Code generator to redirect the existing QR Code to the new review link.
Track your dynamic Google review QR Codes
An added benefit of using dynamic QR Codes is their tracking capability.
Beaconstac’s QR Code analytics module lets you track the number of QR Code scans , locations, and devices used.
You can take it up a notch by tracking QR Codes with Google Analytics to receive in-depth insights on your Google review campaigns, such as user demographics and behavior.

1. Small businesses

As a small business, you would be looking for cost-effective methods to actively market your store and acquire more customers.
One such way is leveraging QR Codes for Google reviews.
Google reviews can help set your business apart from others within the same neighborhood.
Let’s say a potential customer needs a product or service that your business can offer.
They type in a relevant search query and a preferred location on Google and see a list of places they can go to—your store being one of them.
Among the other businesses listed along with yours, what could be one of the defining factors that could get this person to visit your store above the rest?
It’s the number of Google reviews that your business has.
Not all reviews would be good.
But Google finds that a balance of good and bad reviews is more trustworthy than solely positive reviews on your business profile.
To provide a seamless experience to customers for providing feedback on your store, you can utilize a Google review QR Code to get the job done.
You can place these QR Codes on your storefront windows and any print media of your choice, such as flyers , posters , store pamphlets, and catalogs, to prompt existing and new customers.
They can scan the QR Code and submit their feedback to help increase localized visibility.
This would boost your business’s local SEO, aid prospective customers in finding your store easily, and be convinced to visit and make a sale.

According to OpenTable’s research , 60% of people read reviews before going out for a meal.
One way to gather more reviews for your restaurant is by adding a Google review QR Code on a receipt or tabletop to capture customers’ feedback.
You can also place the QR Code at the billing counter so that diners can share their thoughts right after their meal before they leave your restaurant.
These QR Codes serve as helpful prompts to customers, letting them know that their opinions are valued. Not to mention the ease of use involved in scanning and submitting a review.

3. Retail

97% of customers check online reviews before buying a product to get additional insights, according to a study by PowerReviews .
To increase your retail store’s visibility, drive more foot traffic, and convince potential customers to visit, employ a QR Code for Google reviews.
Place them on clothing tags, in-store signages, and checkout counters to grab shoppers’ attention while they’re browsing or right after a sale.
Having these Google review QR Codes placed on different mediums cater to the consumer buying journey, specifically the post-purchase touchpoint.
Adding a QR Code at the checkout counter lets customers share their in-store experience.
A QR Code on a clothing label gives the customer time to try out the clothing item and share their valuable insights online.
The above touchpoints are crucial and can impact the customer’s perception of your brand.
So, using a QR Code for a Google review in these aspects can aid your brand in gaining more shoppers and profits.

4. CPG
Like the retail industry, Google reviews also help the CPG industry put their brick-and-mortar stores on the map.
You can utilize a Google review QR Code on product packaging to collect consumers’ feedback.
A suitable time to ask for a review is roughly 1-2 days after the purchase.
During this time, the consumer gets to try out your product, form a solid opinion, and provide a high-quality and accurate Google review.
You can also send a reminder email, SMS, or in-app notification 2 days post-purchase to prompt consumers to share their insights on your product.

5. Educational institutions

While prospective students and their parents are searching for a valued educational institution to attend, one aspect that can drive their decision is a good number of reviews on Google.
To achieve this, add a Google review QR Code on your campus website and specific points on campus.
Existing students and alumni can share their experiences and feedback online.
Potential students can read these Google reviews to learn more about the school’s environment, teachers, facilities, and opinions on the curriculum.
Therefore, these QR Codes for Google reviews aid people in making informed decisions on school and college admissions.

Here are some effective methods to encourage more scans and, in turn, more Google reviews:
1. Add a compelling CTA
A QR Code CTA such as “review us” or “leave a review” can make all the difference. Without adding a CTA, customers won’t know what your QR Code leads to and might not bother scanning it.
2. Design eye-catching signage
Your signage is your silent salesperson. Use vivid colors, bold fonts, and attention-grabbing visuals to draw customers’ attention to your QR Code. Make sure it conveys the importance of leaving a review.
3. Educate and incentivize
Train your staff to inform customers about the QR Code and its purpose. Offer incentives, such as “10% Off Your Next Purchase for Leaving a Review.” Ensure your incentives are enticing but adhere to Google’s review policy.
4. Promote on social media
Share the QR Code on your social media platforms and encourage your followers to scan it and leave reviews. Use engaging posts to create excitement around the process.
5. Promote during events
If you host events or gatherings, use the QR Code to encourage attendees to leave feedback. Consider running contests or challenges related to your event, driving participation.
6. Place strategically
Ensure your QR Code is visible and accessible in your physical location, marketing materials, and product packaging. From store windows to flyers, place it where customers naturally look.

Picture this: you're in a new town, looking for a place to grab some lunch. You pull out your phone and start scrolling through local options - but how do you know which place is worth your time and money? Enter Google reviews ! These handy little ratings and comments can be a game-changer for local businesses like yours. By showcasing your positive reviews, you're not just building trust with potential customers - you're also showing them that you're the real deal. Think about it: when someone's on the fence about trying a new business, they want to know that they're making the right choice. By displaying your 5-star ratings , you're giving them the confidence they need to take the plunge and give you a try. But that's not all! Google reviews can also give your business a serious boost in search results. When people search for local businesses , Google takes into account the quality and quantity of reviews you have. That means the more glowing reviews you rack up, the higher you're likely to appear in local search results - and the more eyeballs you'll get on your business. And let's not forget the best part: Google reviews give you a direct line to your customers' feedback . By reading through the reviews that people leave ( even the negative ones ), you can get a sense of what you're doing well and where there's room for improvement. With that kind of insight, you can keep fine-tuning your offerings and keep those positive reviews rolling in! So if you're a local business owner, don't sleep on the power of Google reviews. They're a simple and effective way to build trust , improve your search ranking, and get valuable feedback from your customers.
The typical process for finding your Google review link can be tedious, and Google doesn't provide you with a way to turn your review link into a QR code (let alone a fully-fledged Google marketing pack). You'd need to log into your Google My Business account, trawl through the menus, find the "Share Review Form" button, copy the link, then find a QR code generator to paste it into. Then, you'd have to export that QR code, open up your graphic design software and begin to design your own page. That's a lot of effort, so we've done it all for you. Our Google business QR code is already branded, already designed and already linked up to your review page. Neat!
If you want to create a QR code for Google reviews the old-school way, you certainly still can. Below, we'll give you a quick run-down on how to do it in 6 steps (as you can tell, much lengthier than using our simple tool above). 1. Search for your business in the Google Place Finder Tool here . 2. After searching, select the Place ID from the tooltip and copy it.

3. Insert your Place ID into the following reviews URL (replace the placeholder): https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ADD YOUR ID HERE 4. Find a QR code tool online with a quick Google search (there are plenty of free ones, just make sure any codes you create don't expire). 5. Copy and paste your modified reviews URL from Step 3 into the QR code tool to download your QR code. 6. Add your new QR code into a design, or just print it off as-is. Done! But why go through all that effort? Use our QR code for Google business reveiws above. It's a one-step process to achieve an even better result.

Improve Your Review Ratings on Google Business with the Help of QR Codes
What is a google review qr code.
A Google Review QR Code connects the URL for a Google Business account’s review page to a QR Code. Anyone who scans the QR code is redirected to the URL for that specific Google My Business account, where they can leave a review about a company or service.
As a business owner or marketer, you’ll know the influence online reviews have on potential customers – and Google reviews are no exception. A smart and simple solution for getting on-the-spot feedback from your Google My Business page, using a QR Code for Google reviews — also known as a Google Business QR Code — can help you see an uptick in the number of reviews you receive.
When you’re creating QR Code marketing campaigns for your business, it pays to consider a QR Code for Google reviews as part of it. That way, you can ensure that customers have every opportunity to tell you what they think about your great business or service and give your ratings a boost with their praise and feedback. Best of all, it simplifies the process for them: with a QR Code for Google Business, your customers can now leave reviews by scanning your QR Code format of choice either online or from the print marketing materials you use for advertising.
Create, manage, and track all your QR Codes .
Design beautiful QR Codes your way. Add your own color, logo, and frame.
How do I get a QR Code for Google reviews?
Start by creating your Google review link . Then, copy and paste that link into the QR Code generator to automatically generate your Google review QR Code. When this QR Code is scanned, it directs customers to a blank form where they can leave feedback.
Why should I create a Google Business QR Code with QR Code Generator?
Reviews matter. According to survey data collected by Brightlocal, a whopping 82% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and review signals make up 15% of Google local pack ranking factors — hefty figures for any business owner to consider. The takeaway from this? Help your customers make that decision to choose you! Tapping into Google My Business reviews can give your brand or company a boost in your local rankings, and increased rankings and more reviews make a simple but effective combination for drumming up business.
Ready to get as many Google reviews as you can, and give your local community what it needs? Great! There’s one crucial thing to keep in mind, however: Customers can only leave reviews if they have easy access to your Google review link. But how? Nobody likes typing in fiddly, long-winded URLs — it’s impractical, especially if your customers are using a smartphone to search for a particular business or service.
This is where QR Codes come in: With the Google review QR Code, you can easily convert your Google review link into a QR Code. Whether they’ve scanned your Google review QR Code from a print or digital source, customers can scan and access your Google My Business account easily and instantly. This streamlines the whole review process — and do not forget: more reviews mean more opportunities for you to grow your business.
Give customers quick access to leave Google reviews
Consider this scenario: A satisfied customer loves your product or service so much that they want to rave about it in a review. Unfortunately, it was not as easy as they had hoped. They tried searching for the right page to review, but after stumbling across other, similar names to no avail, they simply give up — and the moment has passed for them to write what would have been a glittering review. Missed opportunities such as these are such a shame — especially when the solution was an easy fix!
Using a Google Business QR Code prevents precisely this issue — you can now give your customers direct access to your Google review link with just a scan. No more typing in links manually, no more ending up at competitor’s pages. And, most importantly, no more missed opportunities for your business. It’s also simple to put into practice: a QR Code for Google reviews on the back of a business card can give your customers that spur-of-the-moment incentive to spread the word.
Utilize both print and digital mediums
Endlessly versatile and customer-friendly, QR Codes work both on print and digital mediums. If you create your Google Business QR Code as a Dynamic URL QR Code version, your QR Code automatically comes with a short URL for use on your website or social media posts. With such easy access and more opportunities to leave reviews, it streamlines and boosts your entire review collection process.
Be proactive: increase your local rankings in Google search results
Google itself has stated that reviews affect local search rankings. As a business, this underlines the importance of collecting as many reviews as possible from customers. Taking a proactive approach is recommended: responding to all your reviews — both positive and negative! — affects your local search rankings as well. With a Google review QR Code, you have a powerful and easy way to improve your business.
Update your link and track QR Code scans
How do you generate a QR Code for Google reviews? There are two ways for you to create your perfect Google review QR Code. Use our free generator above for a Static QR Code, which is untrackable and uneditable, or sign up with QR Code Generator PRO so you can use a Dynamic URL QR Code, which makes your Google Business QR Code trackable and editable even after print.
QR Code tracking means you get access to real-time updates on scans by location (city and country), unique vs. total scans, operating device used, and time scanned. With this information, you have the precise data to determine which mediums bring in the most reviews.
Besides, having the option to edit your link later is super helpful if you need to change it in the future. When you convert your Google review link into a Dynamic QR Code, this automatically comes with a QR Code short URL (a clean, easily viewable version of a longer link). If there’s a typo in the URL or the link was changed for whatever reason, you do not have to worry about reprinting a new QR Code as you can simply log in and update it.
Customization options to match your design requirements
We know how important it is that your brand stands out loud and proud. By signing up, you unlock more QR Code customization options for your Google My Business QR Code. Add your logo in the middle, use custom frames and a call-to-action (CTA), style your pixels and edges, and even use your exact brand colors. With the option to also scale your QR Code size up or down as you need, your QR Codes now fit perfectly on any design.
How to generate a QR Code for Google reviews:
You can create a Google Business QR Code in seconds with the following steps:
- Create your Google My Business review link (short name & URL) following these instructions .
- Select the URL tab in the generator above. If you would like to create a trackable QR Code, please sign up to create a Dynamic URL instead.
- Copy and paste your Google My Business review link into the URL field.
- Your QR Code will then be generated automatically. Do a scan test to see if it’s working correctly, as you will not be able to edit a Static QR Code after it’s created.

- Download the QR Code and add it to the design of your choice. Pro tip: make sure your customized details work with your design — scan and test your QR Code before printing it.

Can I see how a Google Business QR Code is used?
Many types of businesses benefit from streamlining customers’ access to Google My Business review links. Here are five industry-specific ideas to clarify how this works with a Google Business QR Code.
1. Restaurants
Google reviews are an absolute must for restaurants. They are indeed one of the most local businesses of all. To boost your restaurant reviews, you could add a Google Business QR Code to restaurant table tents so customers can leave reviews directly after their meals. If you offer a delivery or take-out option, you can also use QR Codes on food packaging (it’s possible for you to use the restaurant QR Code !) for a double whammy review booster.
2. Consumer Electronics
The consumer electronics industry thrives off of reviews (consider Amazon as a prime example). Whether customers purchase your products online or offline, adding a Google Business QR Code to your product packaging is the fastest way to collect more reviews. Plus, happy customers are more likely to submit reviews and talk about your product online, so a product QR Code will make this process seamless.
3. Wellness
Reviews are everything in an industry like wellness, especially since your customers come to you for a relaxing and satisfying experience. To boost review collection from happy customers, you can use a Google Business QR Code in plenty of locations that will get scans. For example, you could create a QR Code display at the reception area, so that customers can leave reviews after paying. If they’re in a rush, you can create a QR Code business card that they can take home to scan and leave a review on their own time.
4. Finance & Insurance Companies
An excellent way for finance and insurance companies to stand out from a sea of competitors is honest customer reviews. Public customer reviews like those on Google My Business profiles are a statement of trust, so the more you have, the more potential customers will feel comfortable working with you. To collect more reviews, print customer documents linking to your Google My Business account: this could be an invoice, a report, or a letterhead with QR Code . These can easily be scanned, so customers can leave a review.
5. Hotels & Resorts
The hospitality industry, as a whole, functions heavily on online reviews. It’s an absolute must for hotels and resorts to collect as many Google reviews as possible. In this case, you could add a Google Business QR Code on table displays that customers can scan at check out or in their rooms, so they can access your Google review link and leave a review at any point during their stay.
Are there any Google Business QR Code best practices?
When Google reviews are so important, you’ll want your Google Business QR Codes to work to their full potential! Fortunately, we have some top tips to keep you ahead of the pack, whether you’re a newbie who’s “wondering how do I get a QR Scan code for my business?” or you already know your dynamic codes from your static codes.
1. Customize your Google My Business short URL for your brand
One of the best ways to ensure customers that your link is safe to visit and leave a review is to customize it for your brand. For example, your Google review short URL should look like this:
If you have a longer brand name, you might consider using an abbreviated version so that your short URL doesn’t become too long.
2. Respond to both positive and negative comments
Straight from the mouth of Google, responding to customer reviews increases your chances of ranking on local search results. But it’s not just about responding, it’s also about giving your customers the feeling that they’re heard and appreciated — no matter whether the review is positive or negative. So, take the time to show some extra love to customers who leave positive reviews and try to resolve issues with customers who leave negative ones. Google and your customers will thank you!
More than just black and white
Show off your company logo and brand colors on your QR Codes and attract more scans with call-to-action frames. No design knowledge needed. Promise.
3. Optimize your Google My Business profile
Google My Business has a whole world of functionalities that you can use to maximize business growth. Take a look at this article to learn more about optimizing your Google My Business profile to collect more reviews and much more.
4. Make your QR Code easy for customers to find
At the end of the day, using a QR Code for reviews will help you make the most of your listing on Google My Business. So it’s worthwhile to consider how to share your Google My Business QR Code in the most effortless manner for customers to find. You can take a look at the industry examples above to give you a few ideas. Overall, it should feel like a convenient and voluntary process on behalf of the customers as opposed to forced.
5. Use the appropriate QR Code size
QR Codes are fully scalable in size depending on the medium you’ll print them on. While the minimum QR Code size is 2 x 2 cm (0.8 x 0.8 in) for Dynamic QR Codes and 3 x 3 cm (1.2 x 1.2 in) for Static QR Codes, there’s no limit to how big your QR Code can be. Our best tip here is to consider the size of the medium it’s printed on and the scan distance. For more information on how to calculate this, visit our QR Code size guide.
6. Align your QR Code style elements with your brand
Make your Google Business QR Code extra snazzy with custom elements that reflect your brand and increase the likelihood that customers scan it and leave a Google review. We especially recommend adding your logo and a frame so that customers trust the source, and it makes your QR Code style stand out on your graphic designs.
How do I create a link to Google My Business so customers can leave reviews?
If you have a Google My Business account already, visit this link for instructions on how to create your Google review link. Like Google, we highly recommend customizing the URL to match your brand so that customers know it belongs to your business.
What is the difference between a link and a short URL?
As the name suggests, a short URL is a shortened, clean, and often speedier version of longer links. A link and a short URL always send users to the same website page, but a short URL is much easier to view and understand the source. If you generate a QR Code for Google reviews using QR Code Generator PRO, you’ll get a short URL to use alongside your QR Code.
Why should I use Google My Business?
Because customers have many similar businesses to choose from, online reviews are a hugely important part of standing out from competitors and influencing customers that you’re the right choice to spend their money on. In regards to Google My Business, this is a profile you create that appears on search results related to your business. So when you have more reviews, that increases the chances of your business being listed higher up on the page and entices new customers to visit or purchase from your business.

Higher on local Google Search and Maps
When customers living close by look up a service you provide, you can show up on local search and get people to pay a visit. It’s a failproof way of attracting footfall without spending a single penny.

- Make sure to respond positively and promptly to every review left on your profile, even the negative ones. This simple exercise will make your customers notice that you care about their opinions.
- Customers will not drop a review unless they get a reminder. Make sure to put the Google review QR Code at sensible touchpoints like your store or restaurant’s exit door or on the packaging.
- Don’t limit Google reviews to just customers . If you have partners and vendors in your network, you can ask them kindly to drop a review about doing business with you.
- Don’t forget to ask customers in person to leave you a review , mainly if they express enjoying your product/service. Make sure to emphasize how quick and easy it is with QR Codes.
Customers today can rate businesses, influencing other people’s decisions. The higher your business rating, the more customers will see it.
If you want more reviews, you can ask people about it or write them on your advertising flyers or business cards. However, many people may find this process inconvenient.

i. I ncrease your sales
Reviews provide potential customers with the information they might need. This can help them decide whether to buy your services or not.
People are much more likely to make a purchase when others have strongly recommended the product/service.
ii Serve your customers better
Google Reviews provide you with the issues your customers have. So it becomes easier for you to understand what all improvements your services need. Once you resolve the issues, it creates a positive experience for customers.
And since Google is one of the most used and trusted search engines, place high trust in reviews acquired on Google too.
iii. Improve your rankings
Along with creating a better relationship between you and your customers, reviews help increase your rankings too.
The more is written about your business, the more important Google considers you to be.
iv. Let customers market your services
Positive Google Reviews are a great deal. They give a positive image of your services to potential customers. Finally, it creates brand awareness that favors your business in the long term.
In short, these reviews increase your visibility and help you stand out from other competitors.
v. Influences the purchase decision of your buyers
Google reviews can help customers make a decision about your product or services. That’s because most of them prefer reading other’s experiences before finalizing a product. And good reviews can give them the confidence they need. You can also add these reviews to your website with free tools like Trustmary .
B. How to increase your Google reviews?
Now that you know why Google Reviews are important, the next question is, how to get them.
But how to actually get customers to review your business?
Here is an exhaustive list that will drive your customers/clients to review your business. We are confident that this will definitely combat the issue at hand:
1. Give guidance to your customers
Many of your customers/clients do not review your business because they simply don’t know about it.
Tell your customers how easy it is to post a Google review. And guide them to use star ratings.
You can also say ‘Drop A Review’ instead of saying ‘Write A Review’. This sounds as if it is a work of just a few seconds. And hence there is a high probability that they will submit their review.
Plus, you can instruct them on how to do it. How? Well, in multiple ways.
For example, if you have a brick-and-mortar store, you can guide them on a one-on-one basis. And request them to review your services online.
2. Consider giving an incentive
Well, this one could be really very helpful in getting customers to submit a review. After all, who doesn’t like getting some incentive (or a freebie)?
For example, in 2018, Subway did something similar in one of its outlets in India.
They added a QR Code which said ‘ Review Us Online and Get a Free Cookie on Your Next Purchase ‘.
This simple initiative helped them gather many reviews online. After all, who would mind sparing a minute or two in exchange for their favorite cookie for free?
You can offer similar incentives or even a discount to your customers on their next purchase in exchange for a review.
3. Be responsive
Responding to a review will make your customer feel acknowledged. This way they will consider spending time writing reviews worthwhile.
This habit also creates a positive impression on new customers. They feel that the company cares and values its customers’ opinions.
Plus, it’s important to respond to both positive and negative Google reviews. You must be thankful and polite in your tone in either of the scenarios.
This way, they will feel heard. Also, make sure your response doesn’t sound cold. It will affect the customer experience negatively.
4. Leverage your print media creatives
You can easily use your existing print media resources to get reviews online. How?
On your bill receipts, you can mention the review link that takes customers to submit a review. Or on your print media promotions (such as flyers and posters). And request your customers to review your business.
And don’t forget to tell them what the link does. That means, adding an instruction (also called a call-to-action statement) with it. It could be—Visit here to drop a review.
It will guide your customers on what is to be done.
But here’s a problem. To submit a review, people will still have to pull out their smartphones to tediously type the link, find you, and then review you. Since it will need effort, many of them would simply not bother doing it.
But the good news is that you can make the process easier by making your print media material actionable. How? Using a QR Code.
Using it, customers can leave a review after scanning a QR Code. That’s it. That’s how simple it is.
C. How does a QR Code for Google reviews work?
You probably know what QR Codes are. They are advanced-level barcodes that can store alphanumeric information. And today, they are being widely used for marketing, payments, and inventory tracking.
Once you create a Google Review QR Code for your business, you can add it to your print media creatives. For example, bills, carry bags, or even in-store posters.
When your customers scan it, they will be redirected to a webpage where they can directly submit their reviews. They do not have to do manual typing anymore.
An easy scan via smartphone is all that it will take. That simple!
You now know how a QR Code for Google reviews works. And you’re probably thinking—how do I create one for my business? Keep reading to know how.
D. Some pre-requisites before you start
In this section, we’ve covered some important FAQs that users typically have before working with a QR Code.
These will make sure you leverage the QR Code to the best potential.
In case you’d startight like to know how to create the QR Code, you may proceed to section E.
1. How does a Google Review QR Code scan
Well, your customers will not need anything beyond their smartphone for a quick scan. most smartphones today come with an in-built QR Code scanning feature.
All they have to do is open the camera and hold the phone in front of the QR Code. And bam! It gets scanned.
In case this doesn’t work, they can use their phone’s Google Lens application. It also helps scan the QR Code in no time.
In rare cases where none of this works, your end-users can install any free third-party QR Code scanner. There are many of them available on both App Store and Play Store for free.
2. How do I increase the scans on my QR Code
First, make sure the QR Code scans well. To make sure it does, ensure a high contrast between the QR Code and is background. It’s very important for good scannability.
In addition, also make sure the QR Code image you print has a high-resoltuion. It’s really tough (or rather impossible) for unlcear and pixelated QR Codes to scan.
Now, talking about how to increase the scans, follow a few quick hacks:
- Ensure the QR Code is noticeable to people. That means its size should be prominent enough to grab their attention
- Also, add a design to the QR Code. That means you may add a logo and colors to the QR Code. Alternatively, you may even use an image as its background. Customized QR Codes are known for increasing scans. That’s because they grab the audience’s attention and act as a point of engagement for them
- Add a CTA (call to action) with the QR Code. For example, Scan here to review us online . A small nudge like this tells the end-users what the QR code does and what they can expect on scanning it
3. Will customers need internet connection to take a scan
People not not really need internet to simple ‘scan’ the QR Code per see. But they’ll sure need it to make the whole process work.
Let us explain it further. A phone can scan the QR Code even without internet and show you the webink it contains. But for that web link to open and whole process of taking the end-users to your website, internet in a pre-requisite.
After all, you can’t open a webpage without an internet connection, right?
4. Can I monitor my QR Code’s performance
Yes, QR Codes come with a feature called scan tracking. it helps you monitor the details scanning activity. For example, it helps you see the number of scans based on:
- City/Country
- Browsers used
- handsets used
- Exact GPS location
This data comes in handy while drawing insights into your target audience. You may learn more about scan tracking here .
5. Can I create Google Review QR Code for another website
Yes, you may create it for nay business you want. It should juts have a Google Place ID (covered later in the article).
we’ve now covered most questions people have before getting started. Let’s move ahead.
E. First thing first, create a link for Google review
Pretty obvious isn’t it?
Only after creating the web link that will take customers to your review page, will you be able to create a QR Code.
So the question is how to create this web link? Well, here’s how:
1. Go to Google Place ID Tool
2. Enter the name of your business. Make sure to enter the name your Google My Business Name has listed

3. Copy your Place ID which is nothing but a string of letters and numbers, listed under your business name

4. Paste your place ID into the following link:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=PASTE PLACE ID HERE
Now that you’ve created the link, test run it too.
Just make sure that opening this link takes you directly to your review page.
Once the test run is complete and everything looks good, proceed to create a Website URL QR Code . Related : QR Code For App Link
F. Create a QR Code with Google Review QR Code generator
1. find a google review qr code generator.
To get started, you’ll need a QR Code generator. Now that’s quite a task too. Why?
Because there are many choices available online. While that gives you ample options to pick from, it’s not that easy to decide which one is the best.
To make things a little easy for you, look for the following features in your QR Code generator:
- Scan tracking : As mentioned before, scan tracking is an important feature of QR Codes. It helps you monitor how many times your QR Code has been scanned. Where was it scanned from. And when was it scanned. Such information helps you draw valuable insights into the performance of your campaigns
- Custom design capabilities : Did you know that you can design your QR Codes? Yes, they don’t need to be black-and-white (they’re not barcodes, after all. Hence, make sure you look for custom design feature in your QR Code generator
- High-resolution image export : If you’ll use the QR Code image on print media, make sure your service provider offers high-resolution formats. For example, SVG, EPS, and PDF. These formats are preferred by designers since they don’t pixelate on designing, resizing, and printing. And trust us, none needs a pixelated QR Code (since it’ll not really work)
To further make things smooth for you, here’s a detailed comparison chart of the topmost QR Code generators. You can go through it to decide the best one for your use case.
2. Create a QR Code
Follow these steps to create a QR Code:
1. Go to Scanova. Click on Create QR Code
2. Select the Website URL category from amongst other QR Code categories.

3. Enter the link and click Create QR Code
4. Next, you’ll see two QR Code designs. You can choose custom with logo or custom with a background
Note that a customized QR Code attracts more scans than a black-and-white one. Hence, to attract maximum scans, design your QR Code.

5. Once your QR Code is ready, say after you design it, you can click on preview. If everything looks fine, proceed to download.
6. To download the QR Code, you need to create an account. Here, Sign Up to get started with a 14-day free trial
7. Once you sign up, click on the Download icon. A pop-up will appear prompting you to specify the QR Code image size and format. Once you enter the details, click Export

Your QR Code has been created. You can now print it and share it amongst your end users.
But the question is that where will you put these QR Codes out for people to scan?
G. Where to put the Google Review QR Code
After creating the QR Code, you’ll have to put it up at important customer touchpoints. In case you’re wondering where these would be, we’ve got some ideas for you:
1. invoices and bills
These are the first customer touchpoints after a sale is made. Hence, these will make a good avenue for you to place your QR Code at. Just make sure you add an appropriate CTA with the QR Code as mentioned earlier in the article.
2. Product packaging
Do you sell physical products? These could be groceries, cosmetics, stationery items, food, etc.
Then add a Google Review QR Code to the packaging. It’ll be pretty easy for customers to quickly scan it and share their reviews online while using the product.
3. Social media
Do you have a decent social media presence? Great! Then leverage it to gather reviews. After all, who will be better suited to submit their reviews than customers who are already following you online?
4. Print media creatives
Do you engage in print media promotions? If yes, then this one will be really helpful.
Print media has a longer attention span than that of digital. Hence, when people see a promotion in print, they’re much likely to take an action than digital.
So put your print media creatives to work and get them to bring you some reviews.
5. In-store premises
If you have a brick and mortar store, then engage customers while they’re still inside the store.
Put up your Google Review QR Code on posters at the billing desks.
6. Reception
This is for the ones who own a hotel or restaurant. They can add the QR Code at their reception to get the guests to submit their valuable feedback.
H. Best practices you should follow
As the last piece of advice, it’s important to use QR Codes the right way for maximum benefits.
While these are pretty easy, here are the top three things that you must take care of:
- Always add a CTA (call to action) with the QR Code. It helped nudge the audience to take the action you desire. In addition, it also helps your audience know what they’re supposed to do or what to expect on scanning the QR Code
- Ensure that your QR Code is of the right size. A QR Code that’s too small will not scan and neither will the one that’s too large. How do you then decide what’s the right size for your QR Code? Here’s the deal. The right size of the QR Code depends on the scanning distance As a rule of thumb, the ratio of scanning distance and QR Code’s size should be 10:1. That means if you expect the end-users to scan the QR Code from 100 cm away, QR Code should be 10 cm (length and width).
- There should be a high contrast between the QR Code and its background color. For example, if the QR Code is black, the background could be white (or any other highly contrasting colors for black). This ensures maximum scannability of the QR Code
- As mentioned before, make sure you export the QR Code image in high-resolution formats for print media. Such formats include SVG, EPS, and PDF. Your designer will ask for the QR Code image in these formats to get started. That’s because they don’t pixelate on redesigning which is important for a QR Code to get scanned
That’s all you need to know about a QR Code for Google Review. It makes it easier for your customers to submit their reviews online. And helps you get as many customers as possible to review your business.
A good number of reviews give your potential customers confidence to opt for your services. And even helps you get a good SEO rank and better business. So get started on creating a QR Code for your business today.

Great information even I plan the same for my store
I’ve created a QR code for our Google reviews page but I’m wondering how I can track the number of scans I am getting. Since the QR code link is not to our website, I do not have access to track through Google Analytics. Is there a way to track an already generated QR Code’s number of unique scans to the local Google Review landing page.
Hey Leandra,
You can track the scanning activity of your QR Code if it is dynamic in nature. And to do it—login to your QR Code generator and go to analytics. You can then select the QR Code you wish to get the data for and get scanning details. To know how QR Code tracking works, you can refer to this article: https://scanova.io/blog/qr-code-tracking/
From wr customers will scan code, bcs thr is no option for scan code
Hey Anjali,
Most smartphones (such as iPhone, Motorola, Xiaomi, and Samsung) now come with an in-built QR Code scanning feature in their stock camera application. And even if their phones do not have this feature, they can use any generic QR Code scanning app or even Paytm’s QR Code scanner to do the job.
Hi Is there a way for the code to view the review page without having to sign into your account?
Hey Nouf, When the end-users scan the QR Code, they’ll be straight taken to the Google Review page for your business. Hope this helps.

Ultimate Guide to Creating QR Codes for Google Reviews

Hello there, digital marketers and SEO enthusiasts! Today, we are unfolding an easy and effective way for you to boost your business and lead in the competitive market.
Our guide focuses primarily on how to make a QR code for Google reviews. Nevertheless, before we delve into this topic, we'll shed light on the importance of Google reviews for your business and explain how you can use QR codes to boost your business.
Let's begin!
What is a Google Review QR Code?

A Google Review QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that, when scanned using a smartphone, leads users directly to leave a review on your Google Business profile. This relatively recent technology offers an easy and innovative way to invite customers to share their experiences and opinions about your services or products.
In simpler terms, it is a smart 'shortcut' that skips all unnecessary navigating steps and takes your customers directly to your Google Review page. A Google review box pops up when they scan the QR code using their phone camera, facilitating immediate review writing. This convenience is expected to inspire more customers to leave positive reviews and drive your business's reputation.
Why have businesses started using a QR code for Google reviews?
The answer lies in its simplicity and effectiveness. Now, more than ever before, consumers expect speed and comfort in all their interactions. The ability to quickly scan a code and instantly provide feedback is a vast benefit for time-pressed customers.
Additionally, it increases the likelihood of them leaving a review, supporting your SEO efforts and enhancing your online visibility.
The Google Review QR code eliminates the tedious process of searching for a business on Google, finding the right business page, and then scrolling to find the review section. Instead, one quick scan is all it takes for the user to be prompted to write a review.
How does Google Review QR Code Work?

When you generate a Google Review QR Code, link it to your business's Google Review platform. Customers who scan this code with their smartphone are immediately directed to your business's Google Review page. Here, they can rate your business and leave a comment.
The speed and convenience of this process offer a high probability that customers will leave reviews.
Instead of manually searching for your Google business listing and navigating to the review section, the entire procedure occurs with a single tap on their phone screens. This user-friendliness increases your review collection, which directly translates to an improved online presence and higher local search ranking.
To sum up, a Google Review QR code is a powerful technique for businesses to collect valuable customer reviews. It is a way to leverage the powerful combination of QR technology and Google's popular review system to cement a robust and impressive online footprint.
Benefits of QR Codes for Google Reviews for Business
Google reviews are word of mouth in the digital era, setting your business's credibility, reliability, and reputation online.
If you're overlooking the power of Google reviews, it's time to reevaluate and pay attention to this potent tool. Here's why:
Boosts Local SEO
Google reviews play a vital role in enhancing local SEO. When your business receives more genuine reviews, it signals Google about your business's legitimacy and popularity, improving your local search rankings.
As per a Local Consumer Review Survey, approximately 97% of consumers read online reviews for local businesses. So, imagine the traffic you'd generate with a higher local ranking!
Creates Trust and Credibility
Reviews are a pivotal factor in building trust with your audience. Think about it - before trying a place or service, don't you read the reviews?
Consistently positive reviews tell new customers that your business is reliable and trustworthy. Not just that, Google reviews offer a medium for you to respond to your customers' feedback, demonstrating an active, considerate, and responsive business.
Influences Purchasing Decisions
Google reviews are an influential factor in customers' decision-making. Prospective customers form their judgments and preferences based on others' experiences shaped in the review sections. The better your reviews are, the more likely the customer will find your business and choose you over your competitors.
Encourages More Customer Reviews

Plain and simple - QR Codes lower barriers. The less effort a customer requires to leave a review, the more likely they are to provide one.
Scanning a QR code and being directly prompted to write a review is hassle-free and quick. This smooth experience encourages more customers to share their experiences and opinions about your business, boosting your online presence and increasing the probability of attracting more customers.
Moreover, prompting a review at the right moment increases the likelihood of positive feedback. A QR code, conveniently placed on a receipt, in a store, or in a follow-up email, amplifies your chances of getting reviews substantially.
Increases Online Visibility
When your local SEO gets a boost, your business's online visibility naturally elevates. It's a domino effect! Think about it: if your business consistently ranks high in Google's search results, your visibility to potential customers spikes. Such a noticeable presence builds a significant reputation online, attracting even more customers in the long haul.
With Google Review QR codes, this fruitful cycle of visibility and growth is at your fingertips.
Builds Customer Trust
Customer trust is the cornerstone of a successful business. When potential customers see many positive reviews for your business, they instinctively trust you more.
Additionally, your engagement with these reviews - appreciating positive comments and constructively addressing criticisms - further establishes your business as trustworthy and approachable.
Simplifies the Review Process
Logging into Google, searching for a business, finding the review section, and then writing a review seems tedious, right?
Cut this chain into two steps with a Google Review QR code - scan the code, and write your review! By simplifying this process so dramatically, customers appreciate the effort saved and are more inclined to leave their valuable feedback.
Economical and Environmentally Friendly
QR codes are a cost-effective and environmentally friendly choice for businesses. They can be easily created at negligible cost, and since they're virtual, they save you from the expenses associated with printing and distributing physical copies.
Not only is this economical, but it's also a plus point for the increasingly environment-conscious audience of today.
Step-by-step Guide: How to Generate a QR Code for Google Reviews
By this point, you understand its importance in amplifying your business's digital footprint. What's left now is to get down to action and generate your very own Google Review QR Code.
Don't feel daunted! We've broken down the process into simple, manageable steps. Let's jump in!
Step 1: Finding Your Business in Google Place Finder Tool
Before we can build our QR code, we need the foundation - your Google Business listing.
Start by visiting the Google Place Finder tool .

Here, you'll see a map and a search box - just like Google Maps. Simply type your business name into the search box, and Google will offer you a list of matching businesses.
Ensure you select the exact business location you are seeking reviews for, as each location has a unique code.
Step 2: Getting Your Google Review Share Link
Once you have located your business on Google Place Finder, copy the unique 'Place ID' featured under your business name. This Place ID will be a series of numbers and letters, such as ChIJl5fz74kXZ0gRf0hKKAopwBU.
Now, append your Place ID at the end of this URL: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=
With your Place ID added to the end, your final URL should look something like this:
Voila! You now have a direct link to your Google Review page. Well done!
Step 3: Modifying the Reviews URL
While this URL works perfectly fine, it may seem unfavorable due to its complexity.
Fortunately, URL shortening tools like Bitly or TinyURL can make this long URL more digestible.
If you opt for this step, simply paste your URL into your selected URL shortener's input box, click 'Shorten,' and copy your new, simplified URL.
Step 4: Using a QR Code Generator
The next concern is to convert this URL into a scannable, attractive QR code. Numerous free QR Code generators are available online; you can use QRCodeDynamic to quickly create dynamic QR codes.

Once you have clicked the "Generate QR Codes" from the homepage, select "URL" QR code type, paste the Google Reviews URL or its shortened version into the provided input box and hit "Create."
Step 5: Customizing Your Google Review QR Code
QRCodeDynamic offers customization options, giving your QR code a desired look and feel.

Play around with these settings to design a QR Code that fits seamlessly with your brand. Don't forget to add a call-to-action like 'Leave Us a Review' or 'Share Your Experience' to guide the users on what to do after scanning the code.
Step 6: Downloading Your QR Code

After finalizing your design, click 'Download.' Ensure you're saving your QR code in a high-resolution file format (such as PNG or SVG) to keep it clear and scannable in all sizes.
And there you have it — your very own customized Google Review QR Code!
Step 7: Deploying Your Code
Now, all that's left is to make your QR code visible and accessible. Integrate it into posters, flyers, brochures, menus, business cards, email signatures, invoices, websites, or even social media posts.
The goal should be to position it at all customer touchpoints to invite as many reviews as possible.
Dynamic vs. Static: Choosing the Right QR Code for Google Reviews
We've successfully climbed the hill of generating a Google review QR code, and now we're about to explore a crucial fork in the road - choosing between Dynamic QR codes and Static QR codes.
As much as we love to simplify things, every online business strategy comes with a set of choices, and the world of QR codes is no exception. Choosing the right type of QR code is an essential step in the process of getting more customer reviews.
Don't worry, though; we are here to make this step as easy as possible for you. This section compares Static and Dynamic QR codes and guides you on selecting the best type for your Google reviews. So let's delve in!
Static QR Codes: The Traditional Route
First things first, what is a Static QR Code?
Static QR Codes are the most basic type of QR codes. Once generated, the information in a Static QR code cannot be changed. In simple terms, the URL you initially encode into the Static QR code is permanent.
Suppose you create a Static Google Review QR code. This code will always redirect your customers to the review page of your Google business listing. No matter when or how many times it is scanned, the destination remains the same.
Benefits of Static QR Codes:
- Simplicity : Static QR Codes are simple, quick to generate, easy to use, and ideal for straightforward applications.
- Unlimited Scans : There is no limit to how many scans a Static QR code can get. Once it's generated, it's your lifelong ally!
Drawbacks of Static QR Codes:
- No Flexibility : As its name suggests, a Static QR Code is fixed. Once generated with a URL, it will always lead to that URL. If your Google review link changes, or if you wish to update the QR code to direct to a different link, you have to recreate and redistribute an entirely new static QR code.
- Lack of Analytics : Static QR codes do not provide scan statistics. If you're looking to track how many times your Google Review QR code is scanned, where, and when, a static QR code won't cut it.
Dynamic QR Codes: The Versatile Alternative
On the other side of the spectrum, we have Dynamic QR codes.
A Dynamic QR code is editable . This means that even after printing, you can change the encoded URL of the QR code whenever needed without changing the QR code itself. Fancy, right?
For instance, your Dynamic Google Review QR code could first direct you to your Google Review page. Then, change it to direct to your website, your social media profile, or any other URL.
Benefits of Dynamic QR Codes:
- Versatility : The power to change the destination URL of your QR code even after it has been created provides unprecedented flexibility and creative freedom.
- Data Tracking : Dynamic QR codes come with an impressive feature: they track data. You can analyze how many times the QR code was scanned, when, and where. Additionally, you can track from which devices the scans came, all in real time. This information can be vital in determining the effectiveness of your QR code strategy.
- Unlimited Redirection : With Dynamic QR codes, there is no limit to the number of times you can change the encoded URL. You can switch the link seasonally, during promotions, or even daily!
A drawback of Dynamic QR Codes:
- Limited Free Use : While there are free Dynamic QR code generators available, most of them offer limited features in their free version. To unlock the full potential, you may have to coerce a paid plan.
Which One to Choose for Google Reviews, then?

The choice between Static and Dynamic QR codes depends on what you value more:
- If you want a simple, one-time setup directing to your Google review page and are not interested in tracking scan data, a Static QR code is the way to go.
- However, suppose you value versatility and are data-driven, preferring to track scan statistics and potentially change the destination URL of a QR code in the future. In that case, a Dynamic QR code serves you better.
Remember, the aim is to foster more Google reviews! Ensure your chosen method aligns with this goal along with your overall business objective.
How a QR Code Can Boost Your Google Reviews

If you have ever shopped online or chosen a local restaurant, you know how big of a role reviews play in your decision-making process. And the same holds true for your potential customers.
Google reviews are an open testament to your business's credibility, reliability, and customer satisfaction level. The more positive reviews you accumulate, the more trust you can foster for your potential customers. That's where the Google review QR code steps in.
Having a QR code dedicated to Google reviews harnesses a treasure of benefits. It's simple, it's smart, and above all, it streamlines the process of collecting customer reviews. The more reviews you collect, the more visibility and traction you generate in the digital world.
Maximizing the Ease and Convenience
The primary function of a QR code is to provide ease and convenience, and it stays true to this when applied to Google reviews.
An immediate scan with a smartphone brings your customers directly to your Google review page, bypassing the need to search your business, locate the review section, and then write the review. This simplicity prompts more customers to leave feedback, benefiting your business's bottom line in the long run.
Your customers are busy, and any small simplification to their journey counts. With a Google review QR code, every scan leads to a potential review. The more hassle-free the process, the more likely your customers are to share their experiences. And remember, every customer's experience shared is a notch up for your business credibility.
Prompting Reviews on The Spot

Here's where things get interesting! With a QR code, you can ask your customers for reviews right on the spot. For instance, you can place the QR code at your billing counter, in your restaurant menu, in an after-sales follow-up email, or even on your business card and invite your customers to scan and leave a review.
This strategy has two significant benefits.
First, asking for a review right after the sale or service gives you a better chance of receiving a review because the experience is fresh in the customer's mind.
Second, your customer is likely to leave a positive review as they enjoy what you have to offer!
By leveraging such opportunities, a QR code acts as an effective prompt for customer reviews, steadily boosting your Google reviews.
Saving The Planet One QR Code at A Time
Print is so last century! With QR codes, you're moving your review strategy from ancient to hyper-modern while saving paper in the process.
QR codes support sustainability by reducing the use of physical review cards or feedback forms. And presenting yourself as a green business can significantly enhance your brand image among your eco-conscious customers. It's a win-win!
Harnessing the Power of Social Proof

We all know the power of social proof – when people observe others doing something, they believe that action to be the correct behavior. The same psychology applies to customer reviews.
Seeing a multitude of positive reviews for your business convinces potential customers of your products or services' quality and reliability. As your Google reviews increase, publicly available on your Google listing, your social proof escalates, drawing more customers to your business.
So, the more you incorporate QR codes into your customer journey, the more reviews you collect, and the more social proof you gather . This cycle of growth can significantly boost your business, pushing you up in digital rankings.
Terminate The Tiresome Typing

Scanning a QR code requires no typing. Nothing at all! This feature slashes out the need for your customers to type your business name, search, and then navigate to the review section. With a quick scan, your customers are directed right where you want them – the review box!
In a world where convenience rules, providing a type-free route to your Google review page is a game-changing strategy. By adopting this strategy, QR codes can effectively boost your Google reviews.
Promoting More Visibility, More Sales
Given the impact Google reviews have on your local SEO, the more reviews you snag, the higher your business's online visibility shoots. With higher visibility, attracting customers and generating more sales become a breeze. And QR codes can be your prime tool to secure as many Google reviews as possible.
By integrating a Google review QR code into your business operation, you make it delightfully easy for your customers to leave reviews.
Where to Use & Place Your Google Review QR Code

Successful implementation of a Google Review QR code is not just about having one at your disposal. It's about effectively carving it into your customer's journey strategically.
The QR code has to be visible and placed in clear sight of your customers, providing them immediate access to review your business. Jointly, we'll conquer this significant step and learn how to place your Google Review QR code for optimal reach.
Now comes the fascinating part - deciding where to plant your Google Review QR code. The goal is to place it at potential customer touchpoints, making it simpler for them to scan and leave a review.
Here are some potential placements for your review-gathering superhero:
- In-store placards : This is a no-brainer if you have a physical store. Place your QR code on easily spotted placards and invite your customers to leave a review.
- Receipts or Bills : Stamp your QR code on paper or digital receipts. After a successful transaction, customers are more likely to leave a positive review.
- Business Website or App : Incorporate your QR code on your website footer or contact Us page. For apps, a pop-up after successful transactions could work wonders.
- Social Media Profiles : Social media platforms offer a rich field of customer engagement. Place your QR code in your posts or in the About Us section.
- Email Signatures : If you frequently send emails to your customers, digitizing your QR code into your email signature invites users to scan and review conveniently.
Making your Google Review QR Code More Attractive
Now the question arises - how can we make this QR code more attractive and enticing for customers to scan? That's what we aim to unravel in this section.
An attractive QR code is like a magnet - it pulls attention towards it, increases the chances of interaction, and thus actively boosts your Google reviews.
It's not just about having a QR code; it's about designing one unique and appealing. Continue reading to explore fascinating strategies to make your Google review QR code more attractive and customer-friendly. Cheers to a journey filled with creativity and innovations!
Power of Colors: Bid Goodbye to the Black and White Era

The typical QR code we imagine is black squares against a white background. It's high time we shed this stereotype. QR codes can be colorful, allowing you to match the color schema with your brand identity. Experiment with colors that reflect your brand personality and make your QR code stand out.
While playing with colors, bear in mind the contrast level. A QR code requires a high contrast between the foreground (usually black) and the background (usually white) to ensure easy scanning. This does not confine you to monochromes but emphasizes the need for distinct color contrast.
Customization: Your Logo, Your QR Code's Core
When you entrust a QR code with your business's reputation, why should it not carry your logo? Incorporating your logo into the QR code adds a personal touch, making it identifiable with your brand. Most QR code generators provide options to embed a logo or image at the center. Always opt for simple, clear, recognizable logos for the best results.
Shape It Up: Break the Square Stereotype

Who said QR codes could only be squares? Modern QR code generators allow you to experiment with various shapes and contours. You can customize it suitably, from rounded edges to completely circular QR codes to align with your brand image.
Just remember that altering the QR code's shape should not hinder its scanning efficiency. The three corners of a QR code (top left, top right, and bottom left) instruct the scanner on the code orientation. These areas, known as positional detection patterns, should remain visible and intact in any customization.
Frames with Call-To-Action: Guide Your Scanners
Another great strategy to entice your QR code is using frames with a powerful Call-to-action (CTA). A frame encases your QR code, while the CTA prompts the user on what to do once they have scanned the QR code.
CTAs like "Scan to Review Us" or "Tell Us Your Experience" politely nudge users to carry out the intended action. This strategic approach makes your QR code attractive and drives user engagement.
High-Resolution and Large Size: The Bigger, The Better
Small and blurry QR codes are a turn-off. A grainy QR code screams unprofessionalism, thus repelling potential reviewers. Always generate your QR code in high resolution, and size it appropriately according to the placement.
A larger QR code is more effective for print materials like posters or banners. Smaller sizes that don't dominate the entire space are recommended for digital platforms like emails or websites.
Test, Test, Test: Ensure Its Functionality
The attractiveness of a QR code is not just about its visual appearance but also its performance. A beautiful QR code that does not scan smoothly is a bummer. Therefore, always test your QR code after every customization to ensure uninterrupted scanning.
Try scanning it with different devices under varying lighting conditions. This step will ensure that your QR code is attractive and reliably functional.

Google review QR code - Get reviews on Google with a QR Code

How do I create a Google Review QR Code?
Where should you place the qr codes and how can you promote them, table placemat, photo frame, ticket/bill, door/shop entrance, call2action on your business card, other review platforms, tripadvisor.
If you run a business or a restaurant these days, not only the physical location but also your online reputation are of immense importance. In many cases, customers first get a picture of business on the Internet before visiting you or consuming something. Online reviews play a major role in this. The more the better, even a poor rating can help you show users how you react to disappointed customers and how you manage to find a satisfactory solution for everyone. QR codes can simplify the process of writing Google reviews or rate your business. With just one scan, you can redirect your customers to a Google Review Page to provide feedback. Google review QR codes are very easy and quick to create.
The feedback from your customers is priceless – it will help you to bring new prospects on board and it will improve your rankings (especially local SEO and mobile search).

- Create a QR Code with our QR Code Generator using the Google reviews URL
Upgrade: during COVID19 quarantine Google has disabled some services/options such as reviews will not work as usual
Once you have your QR Code ready it is time to place it in strategic places so your customers can review their experience with your business. As we always mention, it is not enough printing a QR Code and expect that the users will scan it. You have to explain and motivate. your customers to get a review.
Consider creating a promo for the users who reviewed your business this month.
A call-to-action, which is the text that goes next to the QR Code, is mandatory. The more appealing they are, the more likely it is you will get a review. Getting a good review is not up to the QR Code.
A personal note at the end of the menu (next to the desserts) asking your customers to share their experience can be a nice way to ask for reviews.

You can put a QR Code at the corner of the paper. This will be visible all the time and you increase the chances of getting a review.

It is also a simple but effective way to display a QR. You can use a wall frame or table frame to place a QR Code.

Most POS (Point of Sale software) allow you to add promotional images/content on the receipts. It has no extra cost and again, if you think of some treat, you can have some interaction there too.

When your customer passes by or leaves your location, you can thank their visit and ask your users to share their experience, follow you on social media o write a review.

If you have created QR Code business card you can add a call-to-action button redirecting to the Google Business reviews page.

A QR Code is an excellent way to connect the physical world with digital world.
Types of business that can really benefit from review QR Codes:
- Hospitality: Hotels, restaurants, bars, food trucks…
- Personal services: hairdressers, beauty salon, massage, SPA…
- Sports and Culture : museums, sport facilities, go karts, mini golf…
- Leisure: Night clubs, amusement parks, attractions, pubs, concerts…
We have brought it down to Google Business since it is probably the most global review service and it also has an impact on the SEO of your project, specially local and mobile . However, there are some other review site where you can ask your users to write a review.

You can also ask your users to leave a review on your Facebook page. This will improve the social reputation of your page and your company (as long as they are good reviews).
It is as easy as creating a QR Code with the following URL scheme https://www.facebook.com/YOUR-FACEBOOK-PAGE-NAME/reviews/
e.g. https://www.facebook.com/qrd.by/reviews/

It is probably the largest travel platform and their reviews are one of the main assets of the company. If you have a business listed on Tripadvisor you can easily create a dynamic QR Code and invite your visitors to review their experience. For example a Tripadvisor review for the Hotel Sacher .

Android Phone Not Scanning a QR Code? Here Are 8 Fixes to Try
QR scanning usually works without a hitch on Android phones. But if yours isn't working, here's how to fix it.
QR codes help us access information quickly, easily, and conveniently. With most modern Android smartphones, all you need to do is open the Camera app, point it at the QR code, and you'll be redirected almost immediately to the corresponding webpage.
It can, however, be frustrating when your Android device struggles to scan and read a QR code, so let's take a look at how to fix it.
1. Check the QR Code
If the QR code is clear and in good shape, you should have no problem scanning it. However, a faded, wrinkled, or blurry code may be difficult to scan. You can try to wipe off smudges or scratches if you notice any. Also, is it well-lit? Too much or too little light, with shadows casting over it, can distort the code and make it hard for your camera to scan.
2. Try Scanning Multiple QR Codes
Now, if the QR code looks like it's in good condition, yet your camera won't recognize it, try scanning as many other QR codes as you can find. This can help you figure out if the problem is with a singular QR code or your device. If your camera successfully scans and reads other QR codes but struggles with a particular one, then the problem might be with the specific QR code in question.
That particular code might have expired. Or the developers, while trying to make the QR code attractive, might have sacrificed utility for aesthetics. QR codes are classically made with black squares on a white backdrop, which is what most scanners are designed to detect. However, issues may occur when the design is reversed, using lighter squares on a darker background or using two similar colors, so there isn't enough contrast.
If your camera cannot recognize any of the QR codes you've tried, then the problem might be from your device and not the code. But don't worry just yet; there are still a couple of fixes to try.
3. Clean the Camera Lens
A simple fix to your problem might be a thorough wipe of your camera lens. Just like you need to clean a blurry pair of eyeglasses to see clearly, you need to regularly and thoroughly wipe your camera lens.
Dirt, smudges, or fingerprint marks on the camera lens can distort its ability to scan a QR code. Clean the lens gently using a microfiber cloth or lens cleaning solution. Avoid using rough materials that can scratch the lens.
4. Adjust Camera Focus
If you've cleaned your camera properly, try scanning the QR code again. This time, try to adjust the camera focus. Sometimes it takes a few moments for your camera to focus on an isolated object. Here's what you can do: Move your device closer or further away from the code. Tap on the screen where the QR code appears to help the camera refocus.
5. Inspect Your Camera App
At this point, you have to check your phone's camera. Make sure the in-built QR code scanner is enabled. Simply click the settings icon and ensure that the QR code button is toggled on.
However, a faulty camera will struggle to scan a QR code. If it's constantly freezing, has a poor resolution, or crashes, the camera will struggle to read the QR code. Closing all other running apps, restarting your phone, or relaunching the camera app might work.
If that doesn't work, then it could be a software issue, and you might have to update your Android phone . If you suspect the camera is damaged and could be a hardware problem, you should visit a service center for repairs or replacements.
Most modern smartphones have scanners integrated into the camera. All you need to do is point your camera at the code, and it automatically recognizes it. But on an older phone, the camera might be unable to scan QR codes by itself.
6. Use Google Lens
To try this method, launch the Google app and tap the camera icon in the Google search bar. When this brings up the Google Lens camera, point your device to the QR code. It should recognize the code and bring up a link you can tap to access the webpage.
You can also download the dedicated Google Lens app from the Play Store, or if that doesn't work out for you, there are plenty of other quality QR and barcode-scanning apps that you can try. Assuming your hardware is working okay, you should find something to do the job.
7. Review App Permissions
You may be vaguely aware of what Android app permissions are and how they affect you . For QR code scanning apps to function effectively, they need certain permissions, especially access to the device's camera. So make sure that the app you're using has the necessary permissions granted.
To check and grant permissions, go to Settings on your Android device. Scroll down to Apps or Application Manager , depending on the device. Find the QR scanning app you're using. Tap on Permissions and ensure that all the required permissions, especially camera permission, are toggled on.
8. Check Phone's Storage Space
There are many reasons an app may stop working on your Android device . For example, certain apps won't work unless there's a certain amount of free storage space. Consider uninstalling some apps or deleting some other files to create more space. You might also need to clear the cache on your Android phone .
And finally, you can try a simple but often overlooked step—restarting your phone. Restarting your device closes all background processes and refreshes the system. It's surprisingly effective for a lot of Android issues, and could be the ultimate solution to this little problem.
Fix Android QR Code Scanning Problems
QR codes have become an integral tool in today's digital era, and it's vital for devices to be able to scan them efficiently. If you've tried all the above steps and still face issues, it might be a good idea to get professional help from a repair center or feedback from your device's manufacturer.

Google messages' account-based device pairing finally ditches qr codes.
QR codes are so 2022, so Google Messages is getting with the times
- Google Messages on the web now allows users to sign in with their Google account instead of scanning a QR code, making it easier to use the app on multiple devices.
- The account-based pairing system eliminates the need to constantly switch between devices and ensures a seamless messaging experience across platforms.
- While the new feature removes QR codes, users can only have one browser instance active at a time, but they can pair a tablet with their phone and Google will indicate which Android device is currently in use.
Google Messages never stops gaining ground, with over a billion downloads on the Play Store. However, one thing that users have complained about is the need to scan a QR code to use the app on multiple devices, such as tablets and computers, at the same time. This can be a pain, especially if you're constantly switching between devices. In September, Google began to address this limitation with a new device pairing system that would be based on Google accounts , making it more convenient to pair your phone with the web version of the app without having to scan a QR code. After a few months of beta testing, the account-based pairing system is now rolling out widely.
The web-based version of Google Messages now lets you sign in with your Google account instead of scanning a QR code, making it easier and more convenient to use the app on multiple devices, as spotted by 9to5Google . To use the new feature, simply go to Messages' web address and sign in with your Google account. Then, open the Messages app on your phone and match the emoji that's displayed on both devices to confirm that you want to pair them.
Once you have confirmed your choice, you will be able to send and receive messages from your computer or tablet. However, the QR code sign-in method is still available, and it still takes you to the older UI with an overflow menu. On the other hand, Google Messages has gained a refreshed web UI to include a navigation drawer with options for Archived, Spam & Blocked, Settings, and Unpair.
The fact that you had to scan a QR code to use Messages on multiple devices was annoying, and it's kept some people from using the app to its full potential. As a result, most people only used Messages for SMS. But if you have Google Fi, you can bypass this annoyance by signing in with your Google account.
It's reassuring to see this capability bleed over to non-Google Fi customers. Even messaging apps like WhatsApp, that bastion of QR code-based device pairing, has finally seen the light and allowed users to sign in on other devices without having to keep their phone turned on or connected to the internet.
While the new option gets rid of QR codes, there's a catch: you can only have one browser instance active at a time. That said, you can have a tablet paired at the same time as your phone. And Google will even tell you which Android device is currently in use. The new feature started rolling out to users recently, but it might take a while for everyone to see it.

Say goodbye to clunky QR code scanning for Messages for Web and say hi to Emoji

- Google Messages for Web is likely going to augment its authentication system.
- Instead of scanning a QR code, you’ll authenticate by signing into the same Google account.
- Finally, it seems you’ll approve the connection through an Emoji picker.
Since Google started offering the Messages for Web service, you’ve authenticated the connection between your phone and computer (or tablet) by scanning a QR code. Scanning the code affirmed that you were the device’s owner and allowed your secondary device to access, respond to, and otherwise manipulate your texts. The major exception here is Google Fi users, who just log in to the web portal using their Fi account.
Thankfully, it looks like authentication will get easier, more intuitive, and maybe even a little more fun for everyone. According to an APK teardown conducted by 9to5Google , Google is likely working on an account-based system for Messages authentication. This means that everyone —not just Fi subscribers — can connect their account to the web by logging into the same Google account they use on their phones. Easy!
As an extra layer of security, there could also be an Emoji-based two-factor authentication system. When you log in at Messages for Web, you’ll be presented with a set of emojis. You’ll then need to tap that same set of emojis on your phone to prove it’s you. Conversely, you can hit the “No, it’s not me” link to sever the connection.
This system sounds way better than the QR code scanning method. However, it does appear that Google will keep that system active if you prefer it. We’d expect the company to eventually sunset this method, but it should remain a choice initially.
Google hasn’t officially announced or rolled out this feature, so there’s no telling when (or even if) this will happen. Given how 9to5Google’s research shows the feature to be pretty much complete, though, we’d expect it soon. Maybe before the end of the year?
