Although SaiBaba's origins are unknown, some indications exist that suggest that he was born not far from Shirdi. Historical researches into genealogies in Shirdi give support to the theory that Baba could have been born with the name  Haribhau Bhusari . SaiBaba was notorious for giving vague, misleading and contradictory replies to questions concerning his parentage and origins, brusquely stating the information was unimportant. He had reportedly stated to a close follower, Mhalsapati, that he has been born of Brahmin parents in the village of Pathri and had been entrusted into the care of a fakir in his infancy. On another occasion, Baba reportedly said that the fakir's wife had left him in the care of a Hindu guru, Venkusa of Selu, and that he had stayed with Venkusa for twelve years as his disciple. This dichotomy has given rise to two major theories regarding SaiBaba's background, with the majority of writers supporting the Hindu background over the Islamic, while others combine both the theories (that Sai Baba was first brought up by a fakir and then by a guru).

SaiBaba reportedly arrived at the village of Shirdi in the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India, when he was about sixteen years old. Although there is no agreement among biographers about the date of this event, it is generally accepted that SaiBaba stayed in Shirdi for three years, disappeared for a year and returned permanently around 1858, which posits a possible birthyear of 1838.] He led an ascetic life, sitting motionless under a neem tree and meditating while sitting in an asana.  The  Sai Satcharita  recounts the reaction of the villagers: " The people of the village were wonder-struck to see such a young lad practicing hard penance, not minding heat or cold. By day he associated with no one, by night he was afraid of nobody ." His presence attracted the curiosity of the villagers and the religiously-inclined such as Mhalsapati, Appa Jogle and Kashinatha regularly visited him, while others such as the village children considered him mad and threw stones at him. After some time he left the village, and it is unknown where he stayed at that time or what happened to him. However, there are some indications that he met with many saints and fakirs, and worked as a weaver; he claimed to have fought with the army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

For four to five years SaiBaba lived under a neem tree, and often wandered for long periods in the jungle in and around Shirdi. His manner was said to be withdrawn and uncommunicative as he undertook long periods of meditation. He was eventually persuaded to take up residence in an old and dilapidated masjid and lived a solitary life there, surviving by begging for alms and receiving itinerant Hindu or Muslim visitors. In the mosque he maintained a sacred fire which is referred to as a dhuni, from which he had the custom of giving sacred ash ('Udhi') to his guests before they left and which was believed to have healing powers and protection from dangerous situations.  At first he performed the function of a local hakim and treated the sick by application of Udhi. SaiBaba also delivered spiritual teachings to his visitors, recommending the reading of sacred Hindu texts along with the Qur'an, especially insisting on the indispensability of the unbroken remembrance of God's name (dhikr, japa). He often expressed himself in a cryptic manner with the use of parables, symbols and allegories. He participated in religious festivals and was also in the habit of preparing food for his visitors, which he distributed to them as prasad.  SaiBaba's entertainment was dancing and singing religious songs  (he enjoyed the songs of Kabir most).  His behaviour was sometimes uncouth and violent.

After 1910 SaiBaba's fame began to spread in Mumbai. Numerous people started visiting him, because they regarded him as a saint (or even an avatar) with the power of performing miracles. Sai Baba took Mahasamadhi on October 15, 1918 at 2.30pm. He died on the lap of one of his devotees with hardly any belongings, and was buried in the "Buty Wada" according to his wish.  Later a mandir was built there known as the "Samadhi Mandir".

Teachings and practices of Shirdi Saibaba

In his personal practice, SaiBaba observed worship procedures belonging to Hinduism and Islam; he shunned any kind of regular rituals but allowed the practice of namaz, chanting of Al-Fatiha, and Qur'an readings at Muslim festival times. Occasionally reciting the Al-Fatiha himself, SaiBaba also enjoyed listening to moulu and qawwali accompanied with the tabla and sarangi twice daily. He also wore clothing reminiscent of a Sufi fakir. SaiBaba also opposed all sorts of persecutions on religious or caste background. (In India at the times when he lived religious intolerance and conflicts were common).

SaiBaba encouraged his devotees to pray, chant God's name and read holy scriptures - he told  Muslims to study the Qur'an and Hindus texts like the Ramayana, Vishnu Sahasranam, Bhagavad Gita  (and commentaries to it), Yoga Vasistha. He advised his devotees and followers to lead a moral life, help others, treat them with love and develop two important features of character: faith (Shraddha) and patience (Saburi). He also criticized atheism. In his teachings SaiBaba emphasised the importance of performing one's duties without attachment to earthly matters and being ever content regardless of the situation.

SaiBaba also interpreted the religious texts of both faiths. According to what the people who stayed with him said and wrote he had a profound knowledge of them. He explained the  meaning of the Hindu scriptures in the spirit of Advaita Vedanta . This was the character of his philosophy. It also had numerous elements of bhakti. The three main Hindu spiritual paths -  Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Karma Yoga  - were visible in the teachings of SaiBaba.  Another example of the way he combined both faiths is the Hindu name he gave to his mosque,  Dwarakamai.

SaiBaba said that God penetrates everything and lives in every being, and as well that God is the essence of each of them. He emphasised the complete oneness of God which was very close to the Islamic tawhid and the Hindu doctrine, e.g. of the Upanishads. SaiBaba said that the world and all that the human may give is transient and only God and his gifts are eternal. SaiBaba also emphasised the importance of devotion to God - bhakti - and surrender to his will. He also talked about the need of faith and devotion to one's spiritual preceptor (guru). He said that everyone was the soul and not the body. He advised his disciples and followers to overcome the negative features of character and develop the good ones. He taught them that  all fate was determined by karma .

SaiBaba left no written works. His teachings were oral, typically short, pithy sayings rather than elaborate discourses. SaiBaba would ask his followers for money (dakshina), which he would give away to the poor and other devotees the same day and spend the rest on matches. According to his followers he did it in order to rid them of greed and material attachment.

SaiBaba encouraged charity and the importance of sharing with others. He said: " Unless there is some relationship or connection, nobody goes anywhere . If any men or creatures come to you, do not discourteously drive them away, but receive them well and treat them with due respect. Shri Hari (God) will be certainly pleased if you give water to the thirsty, bread to the hungry, clothes to the naked and your verandah to strangers for sitting and resting. If anybody wants any money from you and you are not inclined to give, do not give, but do not bark at him like a dog."

Introduction

Shirdi Sai Baba is a revered and spiritual saint worshipped across India and has devotees the world over. Hindu and Sufi saints look up to Shirdi Sai Baba. There are still debates over his origin. According to some sources, his parents were Brahmins from the town of Pathri in the Nizam’s state. God appeared in their dream one day and said the child was special and a form of God, and that the parents should hand him over to a fakir. It was for the child’s benefit.

The parents were anxious about giving away the child. A fakir visited them the next day, and the parents gave the child away with a heavy heart. They did not know what became of him.

Shirdi Sai Baba’s Childhood

Sai Baba grew up in the home of the fakir, whose wife was delighted to bring up the child. The child was brought up in Islamic ways. The fakir fell ill a few years later. Knowing his death would occur soon, he entrusted the child to the care of a Brahmin, Guru Venkusa residing in Selu, who realized the child had some supernatural powers. He raised the boy.

Miracles of Shirdi Sai Baba

Sai Baba left his home at the age of 16 after taking permission from his Guru. He entered the outskirts of Shirdi village in Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra. He sat under a neem tree in Yoga Mudra, oblivious to the heat, cold, and other weather conditions. Villagers wondered about his identity and gave him a hostile reception. He left the village and went to an unknown destination. Sai Baba later returned to Shirdi in 1858 and started residing in a dilapidated mosque. He begged for survival and later began performing miracles.

Here are some of the miracles performed by Sai Baba. Devotees prayed with faith and devotion, and Shirdi Sai Baba answered their prayers.

Once, a Sai Baba devotee, Joshi Devgankar’s daughter, was dying of acute tuberculosis. No doctor could cure her. The child was taken to Sai Baba. They followed his advice, but the child died a week later. At the death ceremony, Sai Baba appeared, seemingly angry, and he spoke in an unknown language. The child opened her eyes and narrated how Sai Baba saved her. The people realized Sai Baba’s powers.

An elderly man Nanasaheb lived 100 miles away from Shirdi. His daughter Meenatai was staying with him for the delivery of her child. The daughter’s condition became critical. Nanasaheb prayed to Sai Baba. Meanwhile, the saint sent a devotee Ramkripa to Jamner with Udi (holy ash) and a Mantra. Ramkripa having no money, walked halfway when Sai Baba appeared as a driver with a horse cart and took him to Nanasaheb’s house in Jamner. Nanasaheb chanted the Mantra and applied Udi to his daughter Meenatai. The pain stopped, and she delivered the baby. Later, the two devotees realized it was Sai Baba himself who had appeared with the horse-cart for Ramkripa, as Nanasaheb had not sent him any transport.

A priest named Kakaji served in the Saptashrungi temple in Vani, a village in Maharashtra. Goddess Bhagawati was the main deity. Kakaji had several family problems and prayed to her for peace of mind. She came in his dream and asked him to worship Sai Baba . Kakaji thought she had referred to Shiva and visited a Shiva temple, but he was still restless. Later, the Goddess directed him to the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. Kakaji did not know how to get there.

Meanwhile, Shirdi Sai Baba directed another devotee Shaamaa to pray at his family deity’s temple at Saptashrungi for resolving his family problems, where he met Kakaji and spoke about Sai Baba’s miracles. Kakaji accompanied Shaamaa to Shirdi and saw Sai Baba. They did not exchange any words. But Kakaji went back home with peace of mind. He became a devotee of Sai Baba.

Once Shirdi Sai Baba gave Moksha (salvation) to a tiger. There was a famous circus company in Mumbai that ran into heavy losses over time. All the animals were assigned to a zoo, barring an aged tiger, suffering in tremendous pain. Someone told the circus owner about Sai Baba. The owner took the tiger in an iron cage to the mosque at Shirdi, where Sai Baba was residing. Sai Baba came out and asked the circus owner to open the enclosure. The man was afraid, but Sai Baba asked him to have belief and directed him again to do so. The cage was opened. The tiger slowly came out to Sai Baba, lay down near his feet, and died. Shirdi Sai Baba was extremely fond of lights and kept the lamps burning in the mosque and temple throughout the day and night. He used to borrow oil from the shopkeepers in the vicinity. Unperturbed, Sai Baba prepared the lamps with cotton wicks and filled his Tumrel (tinpot), which had a few drops of oil left, with water. He sipped from this mixture and let it fall back into the Tumrel. He filled the lamps in this manner and lit them. The lamps burned throughout the night and left the shopkeepers amazed and in shock. They realized their mistake and apologized to Shirdi Sai Baba. He forgave them. Sai prashnavali is a beneficial way to have answers to your questions. Sai Baba Background:

Shirdi Sai Baba’s date of birth and his birth location remains unknown and no defective evidence available to prove it. Most of the information available now is derived by the book called Sai Satcharitra , written by Sai Baba discipline named Annasaheb Dabholkar, also called as Govind Raghunath / Hemadpant. Real name of Sai baba also remains unknown – the name Sai Baba is given to him Mhalsapati , when he arrived to Shirdi – a small town located in the West Maharashtra.

The name Sai refers mendicant, also termed as God. This Sai Baba denotes Holy Father or poor old man. Some of the famous Sai Baba becomes famous as saints and spiritual figures, some of the saints are Mhalsapati, Upasni Maharaj, Saint Bidkar Maharaj, Saint Gagangiri Maharaj, Saint Janakidas Maharaj and Sati Godavari Mataji.

Early Days:

Sai Baba Answers – Although Sai Baba’s origin is unknown, historical studies suggest that he was born not far from Shirdi – with name of Haribhau Bhusari to the Muslim parents and grown under the Hindu Guru, Venkusa of Selu.

Sai Baba arrived to the village of Shirdi in the Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra, India. He was about sixteen years old and stayed here for 3 years and disappeared for unknown reason. Later in 1858, he came back to Shirdi, after the Indian Rebellion of 1857. As always, he led a simple life sitting under the neem tree and meditating the whole day. Villagers were wonder-struck to see such young lad practicing hard penance without minding the weather condition.

His presence attracted the curiosity of locals and religious people like Mhalsapati, Appa Jogle and Kashinatha. Some villagers considered him mad and started throwing stone at him. During his absence, some believed that he lived with many saints and fakirs and worked as weaker, some claimed he fought with the army of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi during the Indian Rebellion of 1857.

Return to Shirdi:

Sai Baba returned to Shirdi in 1858, he first appeared at Khandoba Mandir in Shirdi. The priest Mahalsapati welcomed his as saying “Aao Sai”, from then he was called as Sai Baba. Around this time, he adopted his famous dressing style – knee length Kafni robe and a cloth cap. Ramgir Bua started that Shirdi Sai Baba was dressed like an athlete with long hair. The dressing style contributed to Sai Baba identification as Muslim Fakir.

Upon arrival, Sai Baba lived under a neem tree for four years, often wandered in Jungle. He always lived alone, just performing medication for long time. After that, he started to live in an old and dilapidated mosque, survived by begging alms and receiving itinerant from Hindu and Muslim visitors. In the mosque, he maintained a sacred fire, which called as “dhuni” from which he gave sacred ash “Udi” – visitors believed that the ash have healing and apotropaic powers. Shirdi Sai Baba offered spiritual teaching to his visitors; he recommended Hindu’s to read Ramayana and Bhagavat Gita and Holy Quran to the Muslims.

In 1910, Sai Baba fame and new about his healing powers started to spread in Mumbai and several parts of India. Numerous people started to visit to get his blessings and to share their problems with the holy saint. They built first temple for Sai Baba at Bhivpuri, Karjat.

Final Days and Death:

In the year 1918, Shirdi Sai Baba told to his devotee that he would leave his body soon. Later, he had heavy fever and stopped eating. On 15 October 1918, he breathed his last, the date coincided with Vijayadashami. He was buried in Shirdi, later it become worship place called as Shree Samadhi Mandir or Shirdi Sai Baba Temple.

Teaching and Practices:

Sai Baba opposed all issues based on the religion and caste. He encouraged his devotees to follow their religion and customs, read holy books. Sai baba was inspired by the philosophy of Bhagavad Gita and urged his followers to follow it in their own life. Sai always insisted his devotes to follow simple life, helping others and loving every being without any discrimination.

In his teaching, Sai Baba emphasized the importance performing his duties and being faithful regardless of the situation. His philosophy also had many elements of bhakti. There are three main Hindu spiritual paths — Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Jnana Yoga — influenced by his teachings, Sai Baba Answers.

Sai. I am at a stage of life where i am waiting for you to send a miracle from 2 years. I keep praying to you every day. I do have a hope and belief that baba can help. Sai Baba’s early life Here we will see the life history of Sai Baba. Few people saying that nobody knows about the parents of Sai Baba but few others saying that his parents were Brahmins of Patri in the Nizam’s State. One day God came into their dream and said that this child is a special child and he is a form of God. Tomorrow a fakir will come to your home and ask your child. At that time you need to give your child to him. That is good for your child’s life. God said all these things in the dream. The next day morning their child was crying continuously, Mother was worried about giving the child to the fakir. She prayed to God that their dream should not be true. At the same time, a fakir came. Suddenly the child stopped crying and started laughing. With heavy heart, they gave that child to that fakir. After that, they do not know the way the child went.

Sai Baba growing as a Muslim Fakir, who bought the baby, went to his house and gave it to his wife. She was very happy after seeing that baby. Thinking that lord gave that baby to them, they grew up with it. The child born in the Brahmin family now started grew up in an Islamic family.

Sai Baba growing as a Hindu A few years later, fakir got sick. He was sure that he will die. So he thought that to whom we need to give the responsibility to grew up the child. At that time one Brahmin person came to his mind. So he called his wife and said everything about that person and he died. Later his wife went to that Brahmins house. After seeing the child face that Brahmin person came to know that this child is having some superpower. So he took the responsibility of raising that boy.

SaiBaba entering into Shirdi When that boy was 16 years old, he came out of the house with proper permission. He came to the border of Shirdi village and sat under the neem tree in Yoga mudra. He was none other than God Sai Baba. He was in meditation for many days under a neem tree. He did not bother about cold, heat or anything. People were wondering by seeing him. Some people started throwing stones on him. After a few days, he left that place and nobody knows where exactly he went. Some saying that he went to some guru and some saying that he was in the army of Rani Lakshmibai.

In 1858 SaiBaba returned back to Shirdi. Again he sat under the neem tree and started meditating. After a few days, he started living in a very old and dilapidated Masjid. His clothes look so different. He begged for his survival. In this period he started doing many miracles. Now let’s see some of the SaiBaba miracles.

Sai Baba miracles: Joshi Devgankar, a good devotee of SaiBaba. Her daughter was suffering from severe tuberculosis. She took her to many doctors, but no use. Finally, she took her to SaiBaba. After seeing her, SaiBaba said that, don’t worry she will be alright soon. Took her to the devotee’s hall and make her lay on the rug. Don’t give her anything except water. They all obeyed SaiBaba’s word and done whatever he said. But that girl died after a week. Her relatives felt sad since SaiBaba’s words went wrong.

The next day morning they have arranged for her death ceremony. During that time SaiBaba looks very angry he had one stick in his hand said something in an unknown language. Everybody looking SaiBaba with some shocking reaction. Suddenly that girl opened her eyes and started saying what happened to her. Yesterday night when I was sleeping a black man came near me and took me to the sky. I got afraid. I asked SaiBaba to save me. Suddenly SaiBaba came and saved me from that man. After that, I wake up. By hearing this, everybody got shocked and started realizing the power of SaiBaba.

Sai Baba miracle 2: In the year 1904, there was an old man named Nanacahep who lived 100 miles away from Shirdi. His daughter named Mainattay came to his house for delivery. Her delivery date was passed but she did not give birth to her baby. After a few days, she got very heavy pain. Doctors said that the situation was very critical. Nanacahep got fear, he doesn’t know what to do. He simply sat and prayed SaiBaba.

On the other side, Ramkirpuva a devotee of SaiBaba said to Baba that he was planning to go to his town and he waits for Baba’s approval. SaiBaba said that you can leave but before that, you need to go to Jamner and meet Nanacahep and give some Udi and mantra paper to him. Ramkirpuva agreed that but he was not having enough money to travel up to Jamner. But he got faith in Saibaba. So he started his travel. At 3 am he reached Jalgaon. Jamner is 30 miles from there but he was not having money. So he started walking.

Suddenly a man with a horse cart came near him and shouted, is there anybody named Ramkirpuva here. Ramkirpuva was shocked and said I’m Ramkirpuva. Horse cartman said Nanacahep asked me to pick up you from here. So please come, sir. Ramkirpuva went with him. When the cart reached near Jamner Ramkirpuva’s stomach got upset and he went to the bathroom urgently.

Once he came back there was no horse cart and that man. Since he entered the Jamner village he went by walk to Nanacahep house and gave all those things which Baba requested him to gave. After that Nanacahep started chanting the mantra and used that Udi. Suddenly pain stopped for her daughter and she gave birth to the baby.

Nanacahep thanked Ramkirpuva for coming in time. Ramkirpuva said that its all because of the horse cart which you sent. Nanacahep was shocked because he did not send any horse cart. After that, they came to know that SaiBaba himself came and helped them in the form of horse cartman.

SaiBaba Miracle 3: Kakaji was a priest in the Saptasirungi temple in the place called Vaani. There were many problems for him. So he was restless. One day he prayed to Saptasirungi to him give peace of mind. On that night Saptasirungi came in his dream and said, go and worship Baba. You will get peace of mind.

Until that Kakaji doesn’t know anything about SaiBaba so he thought that Baba means Lord Shiva. So on the next day morning, he went to one of the famous Shiva temple and stayed there for ten days. But still, he did not get peace of mind. So again he came back to his native place and started praying to Saptasirungi to give him peace of mind.

Merciful Saptasirungi again came in his dream and said that, go to Shirdi SaiBaba temple and worship him you will get peace of mind. From that day onwards Kakaji thought of going to Shirdi but he did not know how to go there.

In the meantime, there is SaiBaba devote named Shaamaa who went to an astrologer to know the reason for his family problems. The astrologer said that you need to go to your family God temple. Then only all your problems will be resolved. Shaamaa said ok and came straight to Shirdi. Actually Shaamaa’s family God was Saptasirungi but for him everything is SaiBaba. So he came to Shiridi and worshiped SaiBaba.

During that time SaiBaba strictly said to Shaamaa to go to his family God temple. So Shaamaa went to Vaani to worship his family God Saptasirungi. There he the priest Kakaji and said few miracles of Sai Baba to him. Now Kakaji understood that it was the same SaiBaba, Saptasirungi mentioned in his dream. So he started to Shirdi with Shaamaa. After seeing SaiBaba, Kakaji got peace of mind. He did not speak anything to Baba. Baba also not spoken anything to him. But he got complete peace of mind. From that day he became the devotee of SaiBaba.

Sai Baba miracle 4

God will usually treat every living thing as equal. He won’t show any difference. In that manner, Sai Baba had given Moksha to one of the Tiger. Let discuss that miracle here. There was a very famous circus company in Mumbai. That company was running at loss over time. So they have given all the animals to one of the zoo except one Tiger. That tiger was very old and it was counts it’s days. The Tiger struggled with a lot of pain.

They don’t know what to do. At that time somebody said to the circus owner about Sai baba and asked him to take the tiger to him. Then the circus owner tied up the tiger in an iron cage and loaded in a van. That van went straight to Shirdi and stopped in front of Sai baba’s Mosque. One person from van went inside the Mosque and told everything to Sai Baba. Baba came out from the mosque and went near that tiger. Asked the circus man to open the cage. He was afraid to open it, though it is an old age tiger it will have some strength. So he got afraid. Once again Baba asked to open the cage by believing him. After that cage was opened. Tiger slowly came out from the cage, lay down near Sai baba’s feet and died. After that Sai baba said that this tiger attained Moksha.

Sai Baba miracle 5:

A lady from Tamil Nadu had severe knee pain. So she won’t go out much. But for some close relatives function she was supposed to go. Like that one time when she went to a function in a car with her husband, brother in law and his wife. Suddenly the car got breakdown. The driver checked it and said, I don’t know what is the problem. We need a Mechanic to repair it. They don’t know what to do. They tried for a lift but nobody stopped their vehicle. The lady got severe knee pain.

She prayed Baba to help them. Suddenly one car came and that driver gave a lift to them. He took them up to the function hall. They said thanks and got that driver’s mobile number. Once the function got over, that lady wishes to speak to that driver to convey her thanks once again. So she dialed his number. But the recorded voice said that number does not exist. They tried to get details about that number. Finally, they found that no such mobile number. After that, they realized that Baba came and helped them.

Coming to today’s post, it is an experience of a lady devotee of Sai Baba taken from Sai Leela Magazine.

All of us in our family are staunch Sai Devotees. I was suffering from mental strain , depression and bodily ailments. Doctors diagonsed me as a patient with Diabetes and blood pressure and put me on a strict diet . This resulted in my dreading the disease and control over sugary substances. Inevitably I begged before God.

Some how I procured Shri Sai Satcharitra in Kannada version and read one chapter daily. I longed to visit Shirdi; but as per the 11 sayings of Sai Baba, was called upon only in April 1994. No sooner did I get down from the bus in Shirdi, my hearted started thumping with pleasure and I got the first Mukha Darshan.

The next day after attending Kakad Arti and taking darshan of Samadhi and Dwarkamai with a humble request to Baba to restore my good health I met an old lady with a place full of Pedhas as Prasad (which was sugary). I was astonished to see my desire to eat sweets thus fulfilled by the gentle lady. I took one Pedha and turned to my husband for him to take one himself. But, I was surprised when he could nto see any old lady nearby. Sai had understood my sorrow and offered me Pedha throuogh the guise of an old lady.

Thereafter we have been visiting Shirdi annually and receive regular Udi and Prasad.

In 2003, there was a dark cloud over my house. My younger son, who is an engineer and had his own fabrication unit in Hubli, was facing heavy losses and consequently some court cases regarding loans.

Things were the worst till 2007, despite our regular worship and Thursday visits to the local Sai Baba temple .

I decided to observe Sai Baba Saptaha during October 2007 near Kartika Amavasya. The day after I finished the first Saptaha, a very young, handsome and charming Sadhu knocked at my door, saying Sai Ram. He spoke in Kannada and requested me to opent the front door, which is usually shut when I am alone. He again appealed to me to come out and offer him a coconut and eleven flowers. I hesitated to open the door and told him to accept the coconut and a rupee. He repeatedly requested me to accept this as God’s blessing and to light a lamp of cow’s Ghee at Shirdi, it being a Kartika day. He blessed me and my house with a bright future for my family and the end of all troubles past, present and future. He then vanished and was never seen again.

I narrated this entire episode to my husband, who immediately arranged to send half a kilo of cow’s Ghee to Shirdi, the next day being the last day of Kartika and an Amavasya too. Two days later we were very happy to receive an Udi packet from Shirdi stating it was Baba’s Prasad . It meant He had accepted me as a disciple. My husband is a Bhakta Mandal member and a contributor ot ‘Shri Sai Leela’ magazine in English-Hindi.
