David had a vision of building a Bungy bridge on a cliff-top gorge. He shared his vision with his friend Bishnu Neopanae and together they spearheaded the project. They employed the locals for the project and thus, stone by stone and metal by metal they built the now-famous Bungy bridge.

With a shared vision of the spectacular Bungy Bridge, Bishnu did everything in his might to help shape it. Despite the challenges they faced, they brought together the manpower and successfully built the bridge connecting the villagers to main road and making lives easier for locals and providing adventures for thrill seekers.

The man with an incredible sense of humor, Pat has made every role he had in life truly his own. From being an Olympic Equestrian to being the first to descend on 3 major rivers in Myanmar to being the Managing Director of The Last Resort, he has brought along his wisdom in the field of outdoor adventure and has always been compassionate with everyone around him. Sit down with a bottle of beer with him and you will walk away with amazing stories of his adventures.

Avedore Wholesale Nursery is the Topiary Range specialist. We supply quality ornamental focus plants to the market. Investment has been made in specialized equipment and materials to ensure that top quality and high standard are maintained. Our Topiary Range are available in different sizes and shapes ranging from 600mm Patio standards to 900mm Standards and Ball shaped plants. All plants will be supplied with an information label. Topiary is the horticultural practice of training live perennial plants by clipping the foliage and twigs of trees, shrubs and sub-shrubs to develop and maintain clearly defined shapes, whether geometric or fanciful. The term also refers to plants which have been shaped in this way. More and more gardeners are introducing topiary and architectural plants into their outside spaces.

Avedore History

Avedore Wholesale Nursery is a family orientated business situated in the Cradle of Humankind in Muldersdrift. The business started off as a Cut-Flower business supplying the cut flower market, Multiflora in City Deep. Multiflora was founded On July 13, 1944, by Mr Jochem Toxopeus and 2 other parties . They got together to decide on the basic structure of the company which, today, is the core of the South African flower industry. Since early 2005 the core Business shifted towards growing and supplying of garden plants to Garden Centres, Nurseries and Landscapers. Avedore is a Wholesale Nursery supplying top quality plants and delivering excellent service to it’s customers in Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga and the Free State. Our aim is to work as close to nature as possible. Biological control is preferred and pesticides and chemicals are used as the last resort.

Organic compost and fertilizers are used in all stages of production. We conserve and utilize water as best possible. We specialize in plants with the emphasis on trendy plants for Nurseries and Landscapers. We have a new exciting range of Standards. We belong to the South African Nursery Association (SANA). Avedore Red Monster

At Avedore wholesale Nursery we strive for perfection especially on our signature topiary range, since 2015 we have been trimming our topiary range with imported trimmers. Before 2015 we used manual labour to trim and shape topiaries at approximately 200 topiaries per staff member.

The main problem with manual labour is not all topiaries where the same height and radius on the heads or balls. In 2015 with huge excitement we took delivery of our first standard trimmer manufactured in Holland.

It was quickly evident it’s a great investment with capacity increasing to about 700 topiaries a day with two members of staff. The quality and standards shape improved significantly with all standards being the same size and shape.

In 2016 we engaged with furious companies in Europe to manufacture a trimmer to our specifications. In 2017 we took delivery of our most resent trimmer we now have the capacity to trim 4000 topiaries a day with two staff members operating the trimmer.

All of our staff are DBS checked, all guests enter our day nursery via a secure intercom system, and our drop-off and pick-up area is directly in front of the hotel, for extra convenience and security. What’s the latest on proposed Strip resort backed by billionaire?

The plans for the 43-story Las Vegas Strip resort backed by billionaire Tilman Fertitta appear to be active as permits have continued to be issued for the site in 2024.

The hotel-casino project backed by billionaire Tilman Fertitta on the Las Vegas Strip is still moving forward.

The developer is seeking to connect the proposed resort to an existing pedestrian bridge at the corner of Harmon Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard and is asking Clark County to vacate some nearby rights of way to make that happen, according to an application submitted to the county in September.

Additionally, the developer is seeking a review of exterior LED signs and directional signs for the resort, according to a letter filed with the county in January. Also in January, the county issued the project a set of electrical mechanical and plumbing permits for the central plant building, which should hold the HVAC components for the resort.

It’s still unclear when the 43-story hotel-casino proposed by Fertitta, on a 6.2-acre site at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Harmon Avenue could start construction. Fertitta is the CEO of Fertitta Entertainment. He owns the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino, among a host of other businesses and restaurants.

“We are actively evaluating all our options with the development and have no confirmed updates to share at this time,” Jeff Cantwell, executive vice president of development at Fertitta Entertainment, said in an emailed statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Houston-based Fertitta received approval from Clark County in October 2022 to build a 2,420-room upscale hotel over the next two years that would include restaurants, convention space, a spa, a wedding chapel and a 2,500-seat theater.

Late last year, the developer also requested permits for a base podium that can be used to start constructing the resort and to start an initial phase to build a parking garage. Modified plans for the project also were submitted to Clark County for the addition of pickleball courts.

The development site is now mostly vacant except for a parking structure and a rundown building that housed the shuttered Tex Mex Tequila Bar & Grill.

As of Tuesday, no permits have been issued to demolish the remaining building on the site.
